You may be entitled to a property tax exemption if:
- You're a 40%-or-more disabled veteran OR
- You're the surviving spouse or registered domestic partner of a veteran
- You're an Oregon resident
- You own your home
- The home is your primary residence
- You must file a Disabled Veteran or Surviving Spouse Exemption Claim form with us, along with supporting documents:
- Disabled veteran:
- DD-214 showing dates of service and honorable discharge
- Certificate from the VA, dated within the last 3 years, showing disability rating of 40% or more
- If property is held in trust, include the revocable trust documentation
- Surviving spouse/domestic partner:
- DD-214 showing dates of service and honorable discharge
- Marriage certificate
- Veteran's death certificate
- If property is held in trust, include the revocable trust documentation
- Disabled veteran:
The filing period is between January 1st and April 1st.
