Workforce Development Services

IRCO’s Workforce Programs provide career-based planning, career-based training, scholarships, career coaching, work experiences, and job placement with focused supports for immigrants, refugees, houseless, low-income, skilled/unskilled goal-oriented job seekers.

Service Area: Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington, & Malheur Counties

IRCO is part of WorkSource Oregon. Our team of career specialists and skill developers at WorkSource N/NE provide job and career seekers with work-readiness workshops and occupational training scholarships to achieve their career goals. We partner with the Oregon Employment Department which includes Vocational Rehabilitation.
 
Resources and programs available through federal funding (Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act [WIOA]), Oregon state and local funds, such as Future Ready and ARPA (American Rescue Act) include job readiness workshops, occupational training scholarships, NCRC (National Career Readiness Certification), Work Ready program, access to employer networks, career exploration and resume building, as well as OJTs (On-the-Job-Trainings) are readily available to jobseekers registered with WorkSource.

Are you an employer interested in hiring from our pool of diverse job seekers? Our employment services staff support employers by facilitating virtual employer spotlights, posting positions on our database, and matching our diverse clients to open positions based on skills, experience, and interests. We work with employers from all industries and have job seekers with a wide range of skills and experiences from entry level to professional degrees.

Do you want to start a new career or need help with job placement? Our programs serve individuals in the Portland Metro area including Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties as well as some programs in Ontario, OR.

Our Career Coaches support clients with career mapping, planning, occupational training support, barrier reductions, and job placement assistance. You will leave our programs with renewed confidence in your abilities, new soft skills, and the tools you need to succeed in your career goals!

Are you a TANF recipient looking for help preparing for or finding employment? CWP provides individualized support, including coaching, skill-building, barrier removals, and connections to employers. For this support, you must be referred directly by your ODHS family coach.

Career Boost - SNAP

Some of the Workforce Development Programs are funded through the state’s SNAP Employment & Training Program (STEP). If you are a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipient, you may be eligible for enhanced services and opportunities through this programing. Ask your Career Coach about the SNAP* program and whether your program is eligible.

Refugee Resettlement & Employment Services

Our refugee resettlement program offers basic new arrival refugee supports like immediate (short-term) housing, healthcare navigation, cultural orientation services, work readiness training, legal services referrals and job placement assistance as they make their new homes in the U.S.

Our refugee employment program prepares refugees for career success by providing Pre-Employment & Work-Readiness trainings, resume support, barrier reduction, and job placement services. We also work directly with employers to help match our clients to jobs that our business partners have available. Clients must be referred through ODHS family coaches.
