Comments sought on Draft Work Program

Public comment on the FY 2020-21 Long Range Planning Draft Work Program is being accepted by Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation Long Range Planning (LRP) staff through Feb. 28.

The work program identifies and ranks LRP staff's annual tasks including ordinances, projects and other transportation and community planning activities. Priorities include:

• Continue support of housing affordable to people of all income levels, including support for implementation of House Bill 2001 (middle housing)
   
• Planning and intergovernmental coordination for trails
   
• Implementation of Significant Natural Resources Program Review and Assessment recommendations
   
• Consider regulations to allow visitor-oriented activities at farm breweries/cideries as permitted by state law
   
• Planning and implementation of the Countywide Transit Study to increase transit use and meet potential demand identified in the Transportation Futures Study, including findings from the First and Last Mile transit connections study
   
• Continue review of County road design and construction standards to more appropriately reflect the land use contexts within the county though the Complete Streets Design Update
   
• Continue transportation planning for urban reserves and the Cooper Mountain area to evaluate the cumulative impact of future development on the countywide transportation system
