County Auditor issues follow-up review on Financial Policies Audit

The County Auditor found progress made on implementing the 2023 Financial Policies audit recommendations.
Media release

The County Auditor found that the County Financial Department implemented one recommendation: to better document the methodology for calculating the General Fund’s fund balance. The two other recommendations—to update old financial policies and create new ones, and to develop a user access policy for the County’s budget software—are in progress.

County Auditor Kristine Adams-Wannberg commended the County’s Finance Department on their work, "They have done an excellent job on developing new financial policies. There are more policies in the works. The efforts will greatly benefit the County and its residents by providing a thoughtful, long-term approach to managing the County’s money and resources.”

The County Auditor will follow up on the status of implementing the remaining two recommendations within a year.
