We are proud to feature one of our longest tenured clients: Cultural Blends. This Portland-based apparel brand, founded by Troy Douglass of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, focuses on merging cultures through iconic designs.
Cultural Blends isn’t just about clothing; it’s a movement that builds cross-cultural bridges. Their popular designs, including the renowned 1977 and “The Best Coast” collections, reflect the vibrant culture of the Northwest and are available both online and at Back to the Basket’s Hawthorne location.
Back to the Basket, is a sports shop that interweaves basketball culture with diverse heritages. Owned by Troy, Jalen, and Keyshawn, this store is a go-to for retro and contemporary jerseys, stylish kicks, and more. Under the moniker, “Hoops in the Park,” they also host community pickup basketball games on Sunday afternoons, keeping the neighborhood spirit vibrant with every dribble and dunk. Watch every highlight on their Instagram: @Hoopsinthepark
Troy, Jalen, and Keyshawn represent the Native, Filipino, and Black American communities, embodying the unity and diversity that is basketball culture.
As the NBA Playoffs heat up, we invite you to support local enterprises like Cultural Blends and Back to the Basket.
Purchase your game day gear and help sustain our local economy, while celebrating the cultural richness and entrepreneurial spirit that define our community.
