Noor Delaughn named assistant director for Washington County Health and Human Services

After a competitive nationwide recruitment, Noor Delaughn has been selected to serve as the new assistant director for Washington County Health and Human Services.

After a competitive nationwide recruitment, Noor Delaughn has been selected to serve as the new assistant director for Washington County Health and Human Services (HHS). She will move into her new role on June 12 after spending four years in her current position as HHS Administrative Services manager.

“Noor was selected for her passion for building a positive and strengths-based culture, her commitment to our equity, diversity and inclusion efforts, and her experience with process improvement and change management,” said HHS Director Mjere Simantel. “She is a collaborative, people-centered leader who has a proven record of building strong relationships, both internally and externally. I’m confident that with her leadership, HHS will continue our progress toward achieving our vision of Washington County as a healthy, equitable and supportive community.”

Delaughn brings more than 19 years’ experience in the public sector. Prior to joining Washington County, she was employed by Portland State University, where she served in a variety of roles both on the program side and central administration. She has a broad range of experience, including fiscal, human resources, operations, grants management, strategic planning, training, coaching and process improvement. Delaughn holds a master’s degree in business and a bachelor’s degree in business and human resources, both from Portland State University. She is also a Certified Professional in Talent Development.

Washington County Health and Human Services is a robust department with more than 400 employees.
