Washington County’s Voter Assistance Team is Here to Help

Our Voter Assistance team aims to minimize barriers to participating in elections so that all Washington County voters have the opportunity to vote as privately and independently as possible.

Interpretation and translation resources are available to voters who would like assistance in a language other than English. We have in-person Spanish interpretation available whenever our office is open, as well as telephone interpretation for many other languages.

The Voter Assistance team also provides help to voters with disabilities. This could include reading the ballot to the voter, reading the Voter’s Pamphlet to the voter, or helping the voter mark their ballot. Can’t make it to the elections office? Don’t worry! We are able to schedule visits to assisted living facilities and community centers.

If you would like assistance with your ballot or would like to request help in a language other than English contact the Elections Office by phone at 503-846-5800or by email at [email protected].

Please make an appointment as early in the election cycle as possible, as the last few days before Election Day are typically busy. Even if you are unable to make an appointment in advance, please contact our office or visit us in person. We will do our best to provide any assistance that you require. Local Decisions, Real Impact.

Washington County is home to more than 400,000 registered voters – yet in local elections like this one, turnout averages just 25 percent. Special Districts may sound distant, but they’re not. These elected boards make decisions that shape local infrastructure, emergency response, and quality of life for all residents. They oversee the services closest to home – your local library, your neighborhood fire station, your kids’ parks and with an expected low turnout, just a handful of votes can decide who leads them.

Don’t let this election happen without you. Register, update your voter information and make a plan to VOTE this May!

Washington County Elections is committed to helping you better understand how the elections process works at the county level. If you’re interested in learning more, don’t hesitate to reach out to the county’s elections office to schedule a tour of the facility. Elections-related resources can be found by WashCoVotes.org.
