Media release

Meet the Alexander Street Project design team at an open house, 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Living Hope Fellowship, 3350 SW 182nd Ave.

The Alexander Street Project (178th Avenue to 192nd Avenue) includes:

  • Sidewalks, ADA-compliant curb ramps and streetlights
  • Pavement markings for bikes sharing the travel lane with vehicles
  • Alternating street parking and landscape strips
  • Improved stormwater drainage and water quality facilities
  • Pedestrian and bike crossing across 185th Avenue and Alexander Street

The updated project design will require less right-of-way the previously shown. This change reduces the impact to property owners on Alexander Street, while keeping the project on budget.

Alexander Street is an urban collector (see Road Classifications Graphic) that offers a slower alternative to TV Highway for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers traveling within Aloha.

Project design will continue through December 2026. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027 and continue through summer 2028.

The $25 million project is funded through the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
