Washington County Elections begins mailing ballots to over 400,000 registered voters ahead of the May 20, 2025, Special District Election

Ballots for the May 20, 2025, Special Districts Election have been mailed to registered voters in Washington County and should be received by Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Today, April 30, Washington County Elections is mailing out ballots to registered voters for the Special District Election, held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Voters can expect their ballot to arrive by Wednesday, May 7.

Registered voter who are not yet 18 years of age will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after their 18th birthday. If you have not received your ballot by May 7, a replacement ballot can be requested by contacting the Elections Office at 503-846-5800.

Return your ballot in-person, by mail or at an Official Ballot Drop Box

Once completed, ballots can be delivered to Washington County Elections either in-person at the Elections Office located at 2925 NE Aloclek Dr, Hillsboro, OR 97124, by mail, or through an Official Ballot Drop Site until 8 p.m. on Election Day, May 20, 2025.

Ballots mailed back must be postmarked on or before Election Day. No postage is needed when returning your ballot. Washington County has 21 official ballot drop box locations, all of which are accessible 24 hours a day. A completed list of Official Ballot Drop Boxes can also be found below and online at WashCoVotes.org.

  • Mailed to you
  • Received by the elections office
  • Accepted and counted
  • Or if there’s a problem that needs your attention

Washington County’s Voter Assistance Team is Here to Help

Our Voter Assistance team aims to minimize barriers to participating in elections so that all Washington County voters have the opportunity to vote as privately and independently as possible.

Interpretation and translation resources are available to voters who would like assistance in a language other than English. We have in-person Spanish interpretation available whenever our office is open, as well as telephone interpretation for many other languages.

The Voter Assistance team also provides help to voters with disabilities. This could include reading the ballot to the voter, reading the Voter’s Pamphlet to the voter, or helping the voter mark their ballot. Can’t make it to the elections office? Don’t worry! We are able to schedule visits to assisted living facilities and community centers.

Please make an appointment as early in the election cycle as possible, as the last few days before Election Day are typically busy.
