Are You Ready to Vote? Register or Update Your Information by Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Washington County election officials are reminding residents to register to vote or update their voter information ahead of the October 14, 2025, deadline.
Media release

With the October 14 voter registration deadline just a week away, Washington County Elections officials are urging residents to register to vote or update their voter information for the November 4, 2025, Special Election.

Residents can register, check their voter status or update their voter information in several ways:

Residents who have moved or changed their name should review their voter registration. Those who recently became U.S. citizens or recently turned 16 years old can register to vote. Registered voters who have not turned 18 years old will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after their 18th birthday.

Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters, including those in unincorporated areas, beginning Wednesday, October 15. Voters who have not received their ballot by Wednesday, October 22, should contact Washington County Elections by phone at 503-846-5800 or by email at [email protected].

Voter assistance is available to support all residents

Washington County’s Voter Assistance Team aims to minimize barriers to participating in elections so that all Washington County voters have the opportunity to vote as privately and independently as possible.

Interpretation & Translation Resources

Voters who need assistance in a language other than English can access interpretation and translation resources. The Voter Assistance Team provides in-person Spanish interpretation when the Elections Office is open and offers telephone interpretation for many other languages.

Assistance for Voters with Disabilities

The Voter Assistance team also provides help to voters with disabilities. This could include reading the ballot to the voter, reading the Voter’s Pamphlet to the voter, or helping the voter mark their ballot. Visits to assisted living facilities and community centers may also be scheduled.

Requesting Help

Voters who need assistance with their ballot or would like to request help in a language other than English can contact the Elections Office by phone at 503-846-5800 or by email at [email protected].

Appointments should be made as early in the election cycle as possible. Voters who are unable to make an appointment in advance are encouraged to contact the Elections Office or visit us in-person. The Voter Assistance Team will do its best to provide any assistance needed. To learn more about the type of help the team can offer, visit WashCoVotes.org.

Track your ballot and get a digital “I Voted” sticker

Washington County voters can sign up for BallotTrax, a free service that provides real-time updates via text, email, or voice alerts as your ballot moves through the system. Voters will receive updates when their ballot is mailed, received and counted – or if there’s an issue that needs attention.

Once a ballot is accepted, voters will receive access to a digital “I Voted” sticker—perfect for sharing on social media to encourage others to vote. Use the hashtag #WashCoVotes to join the conversation and help spread the word.

Make a Plan to Vote

Once received, ballots must be returned by Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Voters should decide whether they will return their ballot by mail via the United States Postal Service (USPS), at an Official Ballot Drop Box, or in-person at the Elections Office. Ballots mailed back must be postmarked on or before November 4. A postage stamp is not needed when returning a ballot by mail.

Washington County Elections is committed to helping voters better understand how the election process works at the county level. If you’re interested in learning more or want to schedule a tour of the facility, don’t hesitate to contact the County’s elections office. Curious to know what's on the ballot?
