TriMet Seeks Public Input on Proposed 2026 Transit Service Changes

TriMet is proposing additional service changes starting August 23, 2026, to help close its $300 million annual

budget shortfall.

Proposed changes affecting Washington County TriMet users include:

TriMet

Beaverton/Northwest Portland

  • Line 76 Hall/Greenburg: Extend Frequent Service Line 76 to replace Frequent Service Line 20 between Beaverton Transit Center (TC) and Sunset TC.
  • Line 20 Burnside/Stark: Reduce Line 20 frequency to every 30 minutes between NW 24th Place in Portland and Sunset TC.

Tigard/Southwest Portland

  • Line 45 Garden Home:
    • Eliminate service between Washington Square TC and Tigard TC.
    • Eliminate weekend service and reduce weekday trips to run only during high school commute hours.

Tualatin

  • Line 37 Lake Grove: Eliminate service between Lake Oswego TC and Tualatin Park & Ride.
    Line 76 Hall/Greenburg: Eliminate service between Legacy Meridian Park Hospital in Tualatin and Oregon City TC.
  • Line 96 Tualatin/I-5:
    • Move Line 96 off I-5 to replace Line 37 on SW Boones Ferry Road, serving the Barbur TC via Mountain Park and PCC Sylvania.
    • Adjust line 96 to run only during morning and afternoon rush hours and serve limited stops between Barbur TC and Downtown Portland.
  • Line 97 Tualatin-Sherwood Rd: Eliminate service entirely.

Some LIFT Paratransit boundaries will change due to these service eliminations.
