Visit the Blanton Street Online Open House to learn about construction starting in early March.
Improvements to Blanton Street are about to begin, enhancing safety, and making it easier for people to walk, bike, and travel into South Hillsboro.
Features of the Blanton Street project include:
- A 14-foot-wide multiuse (bike and pedestrian) path on the north side of the street
- A buffered bike lane and 7.5-foot-wide sidewalk on the south side of the street
- Improved streetlighting and storm drainage
- Connections to existing sidewalks
- A design that matches completed improvements on 209th Avenue
Blanton Street improvements are part of a broader program to create safer, more connected streets in South Hillsboro’s growing community. Together with the completed 209th Avenue and Century Boulevard projects, and the upcoming Kinnaman Road Project, these upgrades make it easier and safer for those traveling between neighborhoods and destinations.
Construction is expected to start in early March and continue through the fall. Travelers should expect daytime lane closures throughout construction.
The Blanton Street Project is paid for through the MSTIP Bonding Cost-sharing Program and the City of Hillsboro. Learn more at the online open house.
