Rental assistance programs
The Section 8 and Public Housing programs provide rental assistance to approximately 3,000 very low income households in Washington County earning up to 50% of the Area Median Income, or $43,950 annually for a household of 4 persons.
For more information on who we serve, please see our annual Report to the Community for Fiscal Year 2018-2019.
Affordable rental housing
Additionally, through partnerships with the public and private sector, the Department has been able to facilitate the development of over 2,000 additional units of affordable rental housing. Thirteen percent of the units developed in partnership serve populations with special needs including adults with disabilities, elderly persons, and agricultural workers.
