Washington County Department of Housing Services welcomes Ryan Bansbach as the new deputy chief financial officer of the county’s housing services department following a nationwide recruitment and competitive selection process. He began his new role with Washington County on May 5, 2025.
Bansbach joined us from the U.S. Forest Service, where he spent the past 13 years in a variety of budget, finance, and performance roles—most recently serving as Director of Budget and Financial Management for the Pacific Northwest Region, managing a $1B+ budget. A proud fourth-generation Ohio State Buckeye, Ryan holds a law degree and MBA. He's excited for the opportunity to advance affordable and supportive housing in his local community. Outside of work, he and his husband, Bryan, stay busy chasing after their two energetic kids, five-year old Jasper and four-year-old Clara, along with their very large Rhodesian Ridgeback, Rigo.
"Ryan’s experience in braided funding streams at the federal level, as well as with his time serving locally as a Bond Accountability Committee Member for the Beaverton School District, and Budget Committee Member for Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District, assured the search committee that he had the technical acumen to understand the complex regulatory landscape of our finance needs," said Executive Director Molly Rogers. "Additionally, Ryan demonstrated the type of hands-on, empowering leadership we were seeking to join our Finance, Accounting and Budget team.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining Washington County’s Housing Services Department and Housing Authority and having the opportunity to serve my local community with our vital mission through financial stewardship,” shared Bansbach. “I’ve already been impressed by the passion and expertise of the team and grateful for the warm welcome into this dedicated community.”
