170th Avenue and Florence Street (FY 2020-22 Pedestrian & Biking Improvement)

The intersection of 170th Avenue and Florence Street doesn't have a pedestrian crossing.

We will add a signalized pedestrian crossing with push-buttons, street lights and ADA-compliant ramps to improve pedestrian safety.

The signal is a High-intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK), which stops drivers with a red light and allows pedestrians to cross. See how to use a HAWK.

We are doing this project at the same time as the Florence Street sidewalk project.

Construction start (expected): May 2023
Construction finish (expected): February 2024

Update

2/26/2023: The signal poles have been installed. Additional striping is needed at the intersection before we can activate the signal.
