Tiffany Little, a senior building permit technician with Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT), received the award in recognition of her "efforts to support, educate and promote the importance of permit techs in Oregon and the nation."
Little is vice president of the Oregon Permit Technician Association (OPTA) Board of Directors, chair of the OPTA Education Committee and is also an instructor. In addition, she is a director at large for PermitTechNation.
"Tiffany was not only nominated once, but twice by her peers," said Matthew Rozzell, OBOA President, who presented the award. "She helped coordinate the nationwide efforts for the aid of Texas after the devastating hurricanes in 2016 and is working on a way to connect aid for jurisdictions in need after catastrophic events."
Little started her career in LUT as an administrative assistant in the LUT Operations and Maintenance Division in 2007. She became a building permit technician with LUT's Building Services section in 2013, and was promoted to senior building permit technician in 2016.
"We're all extremely proud of Tiffany," said Andrew Singelakis, LUT director. "Not only for earning this award, but for the commitment and enthusiasm she brings to her position every day. "
The OBOA Rick Best Memorial Permit Technician of the Year Award is a tribute to Rick Best, a city of Portland permit technician who died in May 2017 while defending the lives of two strangers on a MAX train in Portland.
