Wardell Named Planning and Development Services Division Manager

Washington County Department of Land Use and Transportation has named Erin Wardell manager of the Planning and Development Services Division.

Erin Wardell has been named Manager of the Planning and Development Services Division (PDS) of Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) effective Nov. 12.

“Erin initially stepped into this role on an interim basis and has really jumped into the work,” said Stephen Roberts, Director, LUT. “She is results-oriented, and I’m really pleased that she will be leading the PDS team into the future.”

Wardell joined PDS as a senior transportation planner in 2014. In 2016 she was promoted to principal planner, leading the PDS Transportation Planning section. Wardell has been interim PDS Division Manager since Andy Back, the prior PDS manager, retired in August after more than 31 years with LUT. Prior to her employment with Washington County, Wardell worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff (now WSP) as a transportation planner.

Wardell has a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Portland State University. She holds a certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a graduate of both the Women’s Transportation Seminar LEAD Program and the Oregon City/County Management Association’s Northwest Women’s Leadership Academy.

The Planning and Development Services Division of Washington County LUT includes Building Services, Community Planning, Development Review/Current Planning and Transportation Planning.
