Aloha Safe Access to Transit

Sidewalks are needed to create safer routes between neighborhoods and transit stops on Tualatin Valley Highway. This project may add one or more sidewalk connections in Aloha.

The community of Aloha lacks safe sidewalk connections between housing and transit on Tualatin Valley Highway (OR 8).

This project is analyzing three possible locations for infill sidewalks and a traffic signal at the 185th Avenue and Cascade Drive intersection. Possible sidewalk locations were identified through the two County's studies:

  • Aloha-Reedville Study and Livability Community Plan
  • Aloha Tomorrow Study

Possible locations being considered are:

  • 187th Avenue, between Johnson Street and TV Highway
  • 182nd Avenue, between Johnson Street and TV Highway
  • 174th Avenue, between Arborcrest Way and TV Highway

We will look at which side of the street works best for the infill sidewalk connections. Community feedback will be considered when deciding which locations to prioritize.

The design team will create designs based on the grant criteria.

We plan to build one or more of the proposed improvements, based on the funds available.
