Learn about two sidewalk improvement projects in the Aloha area at an open house at Butternut Creek Elementary School, 20395 SW Florence Street, 5-7 p.m., Thursday Oct. 24.

The project teams will be available talk about the latest designs and answer questions about these projects:

193rd Avenue Pedestrian Improvement

We will build sidewalk on 193rd Avenue between Kinnaman Elementary School and Blanton Street, also filling in a sidewalk gap on Blanton Street to the west. This project is being designed and is expected to begin construction in summer 2025.

The project is estimated to cost $655,200 and is funded by the Urban Road Maintenance District.

Blanton Street (198th Avenue to 209th Avenue)

Blanton Street will be improved between 198th and 209th avenues with bike lanes, sidewalks, street lighting and more. Design on this project is nearing completion and we expect construction to begin in spring 2025.

The $5.9 million project is funded by the MSTIP Bonding Cost-sharing Program in partnership with the City of Hillsboro.

Open house attendees can arrive any time between 5-7 p.m. No presentations are planned. Email Capital Project Services or call 503-846-7822 for questions or to request spoken language or sign language interpreters.
