Washington County Fleet Services announces the addition of the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt into the County’s Motor Pool fleet.

Washington County is gearing up to convert to a cleaner, more sustainable fuel source for our diesel-burning vehicles. Moving away from fossil-based diesel will help to reduce particulate and greenhouse gas emissions from about 100 vehicles in our fleet.

Washington County Fleet Services has been named as one of the “Top 100 Fleets in the Americas” along with other significant accomplishments over the last year.

Washington County is one of five Oregon counties providing a pilot program to prevent children from entering the foster care system as a result of incarcerated parents. The program is also designed to promote reunification of families and reduce the likelihood of further involvement in the criminal justice system.

Washington County’s Fleet Services Division, in partnership with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, has donated a patrol motorcycle previously involved in a serious crash to the Oregon Department of Transportation for statewide community education.

Washington County Parole and Probation will begin supervising a predatory sex offender, Shawn John Cutler, following his expected release from the Oregon State Penitentiary on September 12, 2014.

A high risk sex offender, Juan Carlos Ortiz, will be released from the Two Rivers Correctional Institute in Umatilla, Oregon, on April 10, 2014. Mr. Ortiz will be housed at the Community Corrections Center in Hillsboro after he is released.
