Original release: Predatory Sex Offender Shawn Cutler on Post-Prison Supervision

On Friday, September 12, 2014, Washington County expects the release of Shawn John Cutler from the Oregon State Penitentiary, and his subsequent transition to community supervision. Cutler has been incarcerated since October of 2007 and will be on post-prison supervision for Burglary I and Robbery II until September 11, 2017. He was designated a predatory sex offender in 1997 and will be under supervision with Washington County Parole and Probation's Sex Crimes Team.

Mr. Cutler has adult criminal history dating back to 1987, including possession of controlled substances, sex offenses, kidnapping, burglary, robbery, and assaults. His sex offense convictions occurred in Multnomah County in the early 1990's and consist of Sex Abuse I, Attempt to Commit Sodomy I, Robbery II, and Intimidation II. While he is in transition, Cutler will be residing temporarily at the Washington County Community Corrections Center, 260 SW Adams Avenue, Hillsboro, due to his homeless status and predatory designation. Cutler is 44 years of age. He is six feet, nine inches tall and weighs 245 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

As part of his special conditions for post-prison supervision, he is not allowed to have any contact with minors or go to any place where minors congregate (i.e. parks, schools, and arcades.) He is to have no contact with his victims. Mr. Cutler is also not allowed to use or possess drugs or pornographic material of any kind. He will be directed to engage in sex offender treatment, submit to polygraphs and to meet with his supervising officer frequently.

The public is asked to report any violations of these conditions or any specific concerns to Probation Officer Danielle Taylor at 503-846-3451 or [email protected]. Officer Taylor may also be reached after normal business hours, in an emergency, by calling 503-846-4300.
