The Washington County Sheriff's Office Westside Interagency Narcotics (WIN) Team seized nearly 110 pounds of methamphetamine after a traffic stop.

Earlier this month, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office WIN Team, with the assistance of the Clackamas County Interagency Task Force, stopped a vehicle on Interstate 5 heading towards Washington County. WCSO Narcotic K9 Mando alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle’s trunk. Investigators opened the trunk and found 110 pounds of methamphetamine.

One person was arrested related to the investigation, but their identity will not be released at this time, as this is an ongoing investigation.

K9 Mando began his career in June 2021 and was certified by Oregon Police Canine Association to locate the odors of heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine. In February of 2023, K9 Mando was certified by California Narcotic Canine Association to locate the odor of fentanyl. K9 Mando was one of the first dogs in the Pacific Northwest to be certified to locate the odor of fentanyl.

In 2023, K9 Mando has already located over 160 pounds of drugs, including methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl.
