On Friday, July 7, 2023, at approximately 2:20 a.m., 32-year-old Meagan Bruce was found unresponsive in her bed by a deputy in the Medical Observation Unit at the Washington County Jail.
Deputies immediately attempted life-saving efforts, assisted by paramedics who arrived a short time later. However, those efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.
The Washington County Major Crimes Team (MCT) is investigating this death. The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing, and no other information is currently available.
