Supplemental Voters Pamphlet Sent for Sherwood Ballot Measure Information

Voters in Sherwood can expect to see a supplemental Voters’ Pamphlet arrive in their mailbox containing information on a city measure that was inadvertently left out of the November 3, 2020 General Election Voters’ Pamphlet when it got sent out for printing. The information missing in the full Voters’ Pamphlet is for City of Sherwood Measure 34-299 which, if approved, would allow for recreational marijuana facilities, adopts land use regulations, and designates taxes. Also left out of the Voters’ Pamphlet are the measure’s eight accompanying arguments in favor of it. No arguments in opposition to the measure were submitted in time for publication in the voters’ pamphlet.

The inadvertent error was discovered when, after the Voters’ Pamphlet was posted on the Washington County Elections website, the Sherwood City Recorder contacted the Elections Office asking where the information was for Sherwood Measure 34-299.

The Washington County Elections office is preparing to print a Supplemental Voters' Pamphlet for the city of Sherwood that will be mailed to every registered household with anticipation that delivery would be in tandem with the regular Voters Pamphlet. There are about 13,000 registered voters in the city of Sherwood.
