In 1968, under President Lyndon Johnson, National Hispanic Heritage Month began as Hispanic Heritage Week, and was expanded in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan to Hispanic Heritage Month.
This Proclamation dedicates September 15th - October 15th, 2012 as Hispanic Heritage Month in Washington County, in recognition of the contributions Hispanic/Latino members of our communities have made in Washington County.
