In the ongoing effort to honor the rich diversity found in Washington County, the Board of Commissioners has issued a proclamation designating February 1-28 as African American History Month.

African American History Month pays tribute to the contributions that African Americans have made to our nation's history and this year's proclamation reflects the theme:"A Century of Black Life, History and Culture."
