Outreach Begins on Aloha-Reedville Study and TV Highway Corridor Plan
This summer, Washington County, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the City of Hillsboro will highlight two recently launched planning projects: the federally and regionally funded Aloha-Reedville Study and the ODOT-funded TV Highway Corridor Plan.
These joint outreach efforts enable the County and our partnering agencies to engage with citizens about:
- What can be expected from these studies,
- Where the community is, where it wants to be, and how it can get there; and
- What is working in the community, where barriers to achieving the community's vision exist, and how these barriers might be changed to opportunities.
The Aloha-Reedville Study and Livable Community Plan is being jointly undertaken by Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation and Department of Housing Services. Its primary objectives are to understand the existing conditions within this unincorporated area of Washington County and to develop strategies for enhancing the community's ability to attract investment and be better prepared to accommodate the jobs and housing that regional growth will bring.

The TV Highway Corridor Plan effort is being jointly led by ODOT and the City of Hillsboro. This study focuses on the 8.5-mile corridor that connects the Beaverton and Hillsboro downtowns through the Aloha and Reedville communities. More than 40,000 cars per day currently share the highway with people walking, bicycling and using transit to destinations. This effort will look more specifically at traffic management, safety and key intersections, and will consider strategic investment priorities and future options for the corridor.
