Chairman Delivers State of the County Speech for 2015

 

In his fifth "State of the County" speech, Washington County Chairman Andy Duyck addressed the Westside Economic Alliance on April 3 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Hillsboro. Along with an upturn in the economy which has been fortified by the use of key economic development tools, Washington County is poised for continued growth. Strategies to responsibly manage this growth and to secure a safe and prosperous future for all was the focus of Chairman Andy Duyck's annual address. The Chairman also pointed to successful strategies which will help the county navigate the many challenges that growth brings. Chair Duyck spoke to challenges including affordable housing, workforce development, a sustainable water supply and many other pressing needs which will require careful planning and collaboration across all sectors of the community.
