National Suicide Prevention Week - September 2014

Although there were 96 deaths by suicide in Washington County in 2012, a growing body of research shows that we do not have to accept any suicides in our community. To that end, the Suicide Prevention Council of Washington County was formed in 2013 and has been working to provide education and to raise awareness about suicide prevention and intervention practices. The vision of the Council is "zero is possible" and they are joined by the Board of County Commissioners to proclaim the week of September 8-14, 2014 as National Suicide Prevention Week.
