The Board of Commissioners have joined with The Human Rights Council of Washington County to Proclaim December 7-13 as Human Rights Week and December 10 as Human Rights Day.

Established in October 2006, the Human Rights Council of Washington County works to promote respect and dignity of all by supporting a community where every person is valued, and equal rights and diversity are embraced.

To date, nine cities are scheduled to approve the Human Rights Proclamation this year – Beaverton, Banks, Cornelius, Forest Grove, Hillsboro, North Plains, Sherwood, Tigard, and Tualatin.

The following Proclamation was read during the Board's December 1st meeting to proclaim its support in Washington County.
