NOVEMBER 8 ELECTIONS: BEYOND THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE
Facts and opinions will be presented about the following measures affecting our community.
Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District Levy
The District serves all Washington County residents by making sure our water is clean, fish and wildlife habitats are protected, and our soil produces safe and healthy food. The District is asking voters to approve a levy in November to provide stable funding to maintain and enhance services.
Ballot Measure 97
Measure would increase corporate tax by establishing a 2.5% tax on corporate gross sales that exceed $25 million. Individuals for and against this measure will present their beliefs on why it should be approved or rejected.
Tigard-Tualatin School District Bond Measure
This measure proposes construction of two new elementary schools and a middle school, major construction at both high schools as well as updates to other schools in the district. Residents would incur a tax increase of $.37/$1,000 of assessed value.
King City Fuel Tax
Proposes a 3% tax be imposed on motor gas purchased from city stations. Funds received would be used to repair, maintain and improve local streets.
King City Marijuana City Tax on Marijuana Retailer Sales
Proposes a 3% tax on the sale of items from marijuana retailers.
