Ballots must be received or postmarked by Tuesday, November 7, 2023

Ballots for the November 7th Special Election must be received by 8 p.m. or postmarked by November 7, 2023, to be counted.
Media release

Participating voters for the November 7, 2023, Special Election have several options to return their ballot. To be counted, voted ballots must be postmarked or returned to an official dropsite by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Only registered Washington County voters in the following districts will be voting on measures in the current election:

  • City of Cornelius
  • Cornelius Rural Fire Protection District
  • Gaston Rural Fire Protection District
  • Scappoose School District
  • West Linn-Wilsonville School District

Mailbox or Drop Box, We’re Ready

The voting deadline is 8 p.m. on the day of the election, Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked by Election Day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day. As of January 1, 2022, Oregon allows for ballots that are postmarked by Election Day and received no later than seven days after an election to be accepted and counted.

Schedule for Election Reporting

Results for the November 7, 2023, Special Election will be posted per the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, November 7, 2023 - 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 9, 2023 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, November 17, 2023 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, November 24, 2023 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, December 1, 2023 – 4:00 p.m.

The first unofficial results for the November 7, 2023, Special Election will be released shortly after 8 p.m. on Election Day. Updates for all ballots received and processed so far will be shared online to the Washington County voter turnout webpage. Preliminary results will also be provided to the Secretary of State’s website.
