Washington County Board of Commissioners proclaim February 2024 as Black History Month, honoring and affirming the many important contributions and rich diversity of Black community members.

Members of the public are invited to review refreshed language for Washington County’s vision, mission, principles, fundamental approaches and organizational goals.

The declaration will help the county coordinate with partner agencies and pursue additional resources for responding to the recent snow and ice storms.

Washington County's Three-year Equity report is now available to read. The report covers the 2020-2023 timeframe.

Celebrated annually in November, Transgender Awareness Week provides an opportunity for learning, lifting up the unique needs of the transgender community and celebrating the contributions of our transgender friends and neighbors.

On Thursday, October 19, from 6-8 p.m., Washington County will host an informational open house about opportunities to serve on boards, commissions, advisory councils and committees that advise the Board of County Commissioners on critical issues.

With the upcoming retirement of Sheriff Pat Garrett on November 30, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners has appointed Caprice Massey to serve out the remainder of Sheriff Garrett’s term.
