WCCLS Adds Downloadable Audiobooks to 3M Cloud Library to Meet Growing Demand - Media Release
Media release

For Immediate Release: Friday, June 19, 2015

Sponsored by: Cooperative Library Services Department

Washington County, Oregon: Washington County readers can now download audiobooks using 3M Cloud Library from the Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS). We have added nearly 1,200 titles for readers and listeners of all ages, and will continue to add new titles each month.

Audiobooks are a great alternative to print books or e-books, for those who don’t feel they have time to read, but miss having books in their lives. Downloadable audiobooks from 3M Cloud Library make it easy to listen to books in the car, at the gym, or while you are doing chores around the house.

WCCLS added downloadable audiobooks in response to overwhelming patron demand for more downloadable books. Lisa Tattersall, WCCLS Program Supervisor for Adult Services, reports that “downloadable e-books and audiobooks continue to increase in popularity, and WCCLS is committed to doing its best to meet that demand, serving readers no matter which way they like to read or listen to books.”

Audiobooks from 3M Cloud Library are easy to use, and once they are downloaded, can be listened to without internet access. Listeners can browse for audiobooks on the Featured section of the 3M Cloud app. They can also swipe from the right of the screen to see the option to filter titles by format. Download the 3M Cloud Library app to your Apple or Android device to get started, and sign in with your WCCLS library card. Visit us at www.wccls.org for more details.

The Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) is funded in part by a local option levy. A new levy to replace the expiring one will be on the ballot in November 2015. WCCLS member libraries include: Banks Public Library, Beaverton City Library, Beaverton City Library @ Murray Scholls, Cedar Mill Community Library, Cedar Mill Community Library @ Bethany, Cornelius Public Library, Forest Grove City Library, Garden Home Community Library, Hillsboro Public Libraries (Main and Shute Park), North Plains Public Library, Sherwood Public Library, Tigard Public Library, Tualatin Public Library, and West Slope Community Library.
