Celebrating People & Partnerships Annual Report FY 2015-16 has been published online by Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT).

The publication highlights the County's community partnerships which have been essential to the success of several large transportation and development projects. Construction on the 124th Avenue Extension project started in March, thanks to partnerships with ODOT, Metro, Willamette Water Supply and the cities of Sherwood, Tualatin and Wilsonville. Development in North Bethany continues, with large areas under construction, thanks to the County's partnerships with Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District and Clean Water Services. The Cornelius Pass Road project began in July 2015, thanks to a partnership with ODOT, Hillsboro and Intel.

"Fiscal 2015-16 was a busy, challenging year for LUT," said Andrew Singelakis, director. "We had some significant weather-related emergency road projects to deal with. Developing an ordinance regulating marijuana retail, growing and production facilities; continuing work on the Washington County Transportation Futures Study and other projects kept staff quite busy."

Throughout Fiscal Year2015-16, LUT:

  • Completed 73,164 building-related inspections.
  • Approved 1,612 subdivision lots.
  • Handled 2,615 requests for traffic signs, striping and other issues.
  • Maintained 3,014 road lane miles.
  • Maintained 3,008 culverts and 184 bridges.
  • Worked on 47 road design/construction projects.

More LUT Fiscal 2015-16 projects and statistics are included in the annual report, available at lut15-16annualreport.com. Printed copies will be available at Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation, 155 N. First Ave. Ste. 350, Hillsboro, OR 97124.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
