Traffic changes occurring on 185th Avenue and Springville Road

The traffic pattern is changing on both 185th Avenue and Springville Road effective today, due to ongoing construction.

The new traffic pattern will create a three-way stop controlled intersection at Springville Road and 185th Avenue. The new intersection will include one lane of traffic in each direction. 

The project includes widening of 185th Avenue (between West Union and Springville roads) and Springville Road (between 185th and 178th avenues), and installation of a traffic signal at 185th Avenue and Springville Road. The project is expected to be complete in September.

Future projects in the area include widening Springville Road to five lanes between 181st Avenue and the Portland Community College (PCC) Rock Creek Campus entrance (Phase 2 ) and improvements to Springville Road between Kaiser Road and 160th Avenue (Phase 3 ).

An open house about these future improvements is 5-7 p.m. Feb. 28 at PCC's Rock Creek Campus Event Center, Building 9, 17705 NW Springville Road. County staff will be available to answer questions. No formal presentation is planned; stop by anytime during open house hours.
