Person Arrested for Bias Crime and Assault II After Unprovoked Attack

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an assault call near the 2800 block of SW 187th Avenue. Deputies learned that 34-year-old David Ohearn was upset about cars parked on their street and confronted the neighbor who owned the vehicles.

During the confrontation, Ohearn followed the victim into their garage and used a knife to cause superficial injuries to them. Ohearn walked away from the victim and encountered another person on the same property. Ohearn threatened to kill the person based on Ohearn’s perception of their race. Deputies contacted Ohearn at his home and arrested him for assault in the second degree, bias crime in the second degree, unlawful use of a weapon, and burglary in the second degree. Ohearn was lodged in the Washington County Jail.
