County Invites Voters to Drop Off Ballots Early

Washington County elections officials are encouraging voters to drop ballots off as soon as possible for Tuesday’s primary election so that all ballots are processed in a timely manner. The Elections Office will offer extra hours on Saturday and two days of drive-through service on Monday and Tuesday.

Primary Election Ballots Should Be Dropped Off at Official Collection Sites by 8 p.m. Tuesday

 

Washington County elections officials are encouraging voters to drop ballots off as soon as possible for Tuesday's primary election so that all ballots are processed in a timely manner. 

Appropriately signed and completed ballots should be dropped off at official collection sites in order to meet the election's 8 p.m. deadline on Tuesday, May 18.  

With only five days left in the state's vote-by-mail election period, Washington County has received fewer ballots than usual for a gubernatorial primary election. Only 40,698 ballots, or about 15 percent of all registered voters in the county, have been received so far. Nearly 20 percent of Washington County ballots were received at this same point in time in May 2006.

Extra Service at Elections Office  

In addition, Washington County Elections will offer extra hours on Saturday and two days of drive-through service on Monday and Tuesday at the Elections Office at 3700 S.W. Murray Boulevard, Beaverton. Voters may drop off completed ballots in their signed envelopes at the Elections Office on Murray Boulevard during these hours. The dates for these extra hours of service include:  

  • Saturday May 15, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – No drive-through service available.
  • Monday May 17, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Drive-through service available.
  • Tuesday May 18, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Drive-through service available.  

24-hour Drop Off Sites  

Voters may also drop off their completed ballots at several 24-hour drop off sites, including:

  • Washington County Charles D. Cameron Public Services Building, 155 N. 1st Avenue, Hillsboro, OR (Look for the drop box near the rear entrance of building.)
