Public Safety Updates

New Wood Stove Exchange, Rebates
Tim Davis, Housing Rehabilitation Specialist

Old wood stoves use a lot of wood, heat poorly, hurt your health and pollute our air. The Washington County Wood Stove Exchange offers rebates of $1,500-$3,500 on trade-ins of old or uncertified wood stoves for new, cleaner heating devices. Some households may be eligible for a free heating device, based on qualifying incomes.

Tim Davis with the Office of Community Development will join us to discuss the program. See www.WoodStoveExchange.com for more information and to apply, or call 503-846-4425. If you are interested, apply quickly while funds last.

Something New in Community Engagement
Mike Dahlstrom has been appointed manager of a new Community Engagement program founded with CPOs as a cornerstone and reaching out to engage more audiences and communities. Many people know Mike from projects such as the Aloha-Reedville Study and Livable Community Plan. He will stop by to discuss the new program's priorities and listen.
