Perkins-Hagele Appointed as Fairgrounds Manager

 Washington County Administrator Robert Davis announced today that Leah Perkins-Hagele has been chosen as the Washington County fairgrounds manager after a nationwide search to fill the position.

Perkins-Hagele began her career with Washington County in 2001 as the fair coordinator and became the interim fair complex manager in 2008.  Perkins-Hagele is president of the Oregon Fairs Association and serves on the board of the Hillsboro Rotary Club. She graduated from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions Institute of Fair Management in 2009 and received the IAFE Certified Fair Executive designation in 2010. 

"We are very pleased that Leah will be transitioning into the fairgrounds manager position on a permanent basis where she can continue her efforts to help make the Washington County annual fair and year-round events and operations the best that they can be" said County Administrator Robert Davis. "She is passionate about our fair and community, and is recognized throughout the state as a leader in the fair industry. We are fortunate to have her on our team here in Washington County."    

The fairgrounds manager organizes and directs all activities and events at the Washington County Fair Complex and is responsible for daily operations with the assistance of seven full time employees. The Fair Complex operates on an annual budget of $2.5 million that includes over $1 million for the annual County Fair event. The Washington County Fair hosts stage entertainment, farm animal competitions, crafts, carnival rides, nearly 300 commercial vendors and draws over 100,000 visitors every year.
