Scoggins Valley Park at Hagg Lake Is Closed Due to Scoggins Creek Fire

To assist fire-fighting operations near Hagg Lake, Scoggins Valley Park has closed and could remain closed over the next four to seven days. Park personnel are coordinating with Oregon Department of Forestry as state fire fighters begin to arrive and establish camp.

More than 300 acres of land protected by Oregon Department of Forestry have been engaged so far and fire fighters are concerned that the fire could expand to surrounding territory depending on wind and other factors.

In addition, the County and the cities of Cornelius, Forest Grove and Gaston have all activated their Emergency Operations Centers in order to support response and shelter operations and to help coordinate public information.
