Washington County Joins the NACo “Live Healthy” Prescription, Dental and Health Discounts Program

Washington County has announced its participation in the National Association of Counties (NACo) "Live Healthy" Discounts Program, which allows them to offer all county residents the opportunity to save money with discounts on prescriptions as well as dental and health services and procedures. This is not an insurance program.

Through the Live Healthy Discounts Program, residents can save an average of 24 percent off the retail price of prescription medicine and 15–50 percent off the cost of dental and health check-ups, cleanings, fillings, vision services, hearing aids, diabetes supplies, prepaid lab and more.

"We are proud to join the hundreds of counties across the nation that are participating in the NACo program," says Marni Kuyl, director of Washington County Department of Health and Human Services. "This program can help our uninsured and underinsured residents receive the medications and health care services they need."

NACo Live Healthy Discounts are available to all residents — those with and without health insurance — as an added way to save on the cost of health care. The Live Healthy Prescription Discount Card is free to all residents and may help pay for medications (human and pet) not covered by their insurance. Residents can register and download a free prescription discount card at www.nacorx.org or call toll-free 877-321-2652 to join.

Dental and health discounts each require a monthly or annual fee. There are no annual limits placed on use, no forms to fill out, no waiting periods, no age or income requirements and no medical condition restrictions. Monthly fees for dental and health discount programs are $6.95 per month for individuals, $8.95 for families. Annual fees are $69 for individuals and $79 for families.
