Comment on the Council Creek Regional Trail design through May 31

The Council Creek Regional Trail creates a corridor for commuting and recreational opportunities for all who bike, hike, roll and stroll.
Media release

Share your thoughts about the Council Creek Regional Trail at an online open house through May 31.

The trail creates an alternative to Tualatin Valley Highway (OR 8) to walk, bike or roll between Forest Grove and Hillsboro.

The trail alignment centers along abandoned railroad tracks within existing right-of-way. The trail begins at Douglas Street in Forest Grove and ends in at Dennis Street in Hillsboro, near TriMet’s Hatfield MAX Station.

The new trail provides:

  • Options for car-free travel, reducing climate impacts and lowering transportation costs.
  • An alternative to TV Highway for cyclists and pedestrians.
  • A convenience to business districts and neighborhoods along the corridor.

The Council Creek Regional Trail is paid for through:

  • Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Regional Flexible Fund Allocation (RFFA) grants through Metro
  • Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP) Opportunity Fund through Washington County
  • City of Hillsboro Transportation Development Tax (TDT)
  • City of Forest Grove Transportation Development Tax (TDT)
