The 209th Avenue and Johnson Street intersection will close July 1 for road improvements.

The closure on SW 209th Avenue will extend from Alexander Street to Regal Court. The closure on SW Johnson Street will extend from Lenore Drive to McKenna Place.

Local access will be maintained for property owners within the closure areas. All through traffic must use the signed detour on Cornelius Pass and Rock roads, Tualatin Valley Highway and 198th Avenue. (See map).

Improvements to the south side of Johnson Street and the west side of 209th Avenue will include widening, bike lanes, sidewalks, drainage and street lighting. Completion is expected by Sept. 1, 2019.

Cost of the project is estimated at $2.3 million, funded by the Hillsboro School District and Washington County’s Transportation Development Tax and Gain Share Program.
