Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation, Capital Project Services Division

Washington County's Department of Land Use & Transportation and the City of Beaverton invite the public to attend the final open house for the upcoming Farmington Road improvement project. The event will be held on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Beaverton High School’s library, 13000 SW 2nd Street, Beaverton. The public is invited to drop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the project.

Project staff from the county and city, along with design engineer Harper Houf Peterson Righellis, Inc. will be available to answer questions. No formal presentation is planned.

This project will make needed safety improvements to Farmington Road between Murray Boulevard and Hocken Avenue. Improvements include widening the roadway to five lanes (two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane), continuous bicycle and pedestrian facilities, street lighting and utility upgrades. This project also entails realigning 141st and 142nd Avenues at Farmington Road.

Road widening work is funded through phase 3D of the county’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). Water and sanitary system improvements will be funded by the City of Beaverton. Construction is anticipated to begin fall 2014 with completion by summer 2016.
