Department of Land Use and Transportation appoints new Traffic Engineer

Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation announces that Stacy Shetler, P.E. has been selected as the county’s new Principal Traffic Engineer. He will lead the Traffic Engineering section within the department’s Engineering and Construction Services division, reporting to County Engineer Gary Stockhoff.


Shetler is a registered Civil Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. His work history includes seven years as a Transportation Engineer with the Oregon Department of Transportation and more than six years in Washington County’s Traffic Engineering section, where he has previously served as Traffic Analyst and Traffic Engineer. Shetler has experience in traffic and safety analysis, illumination, signal operations, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS, advanced signal control technology).  Earlier this year, Shetler was instrumental in activating Washington County’s first ITS deployments on portions of Tualatin-Sherwood Road and Cornell Road.
