Feb. 23 “Meet the Contractor” Open House set for OR 47 at Verboort Road roundabout

A "Meet the Contractor" open house for the OR 47/Verboort-Purdin Road roundabout project will be held from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Forest Grove Community Auditorium, 1915 Main St., Forest Grove.

The event, sponsored by the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation and Oregon Department of Transportation, is a chance for the public to meet the contractor, Mag Construction LLC, and to review the construction schedule. No formal presentation is planned.

The project will construct a single-lane roundabout at OR 47 and Verboort-Purdin Road. Additional improvements include bicycle and pedestrian facilities, street lighting, storm drainage improvements, and utility upgrades. Construction is anticipated to occur from March through December.

This project requires a four-month closure of Verboort Road at OR 47 sometime between March and July. Purdin Road will be closed for about one and a-half months during late summer/early fall. Notifications will be sent out as soon as closure dates are confirmed. OR 47 will remain open.
