February 26 Open House for Farmington Road Project

Washington County and the City of Beaverton invite the public to attend an open house on February 26, 2015 for the Farmington Road improvement project. The event will be held at the Beaverton Community Center, 12350 SW 5th Street (across from the library). The public is invited to drop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to view the final design plans and to learn more about the anticipated construction schedule. Project staff from the County and City, along with design engineer, Harper Houf Peterson Righellis, Inc. will be available to answer questions. No formal presentation is planned.

This project will make needed multi-modal safety improvements to Farmington Road between Murray Boulevard and Hocken Avenue. Improvements include widening the roadway to five lanes (two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane), continuous bicycle and pedestrian facilities, street lighting and utility upgrades. This project also entails realigning 141st and 142nd Avenues.

Vegetation removal and demolition of acquired structures will begin this month. Road construction work will start in spring 2015 and completion of this project is anticipated to occur by fall 2016.

Road widening work is funded through phase 3D of the County's Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). Water and sanitary system improvements will be funded by the City of Beaverton.
