The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Thursday December 11 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Gusts of up to 60 mph are possible in the metro area, with higher winds in the foothills of northwestern Washington County. Strongest gusts are expected during the afternoon and into the evening commute.

Prepare for power outages and expect damage to trees and some structures. Falling branches and trees could cause power outages and debris on roadways. Winds could also cause hazardous driving conditions on roadways and bridges. If you encounter a nonfunctioning traffic signal, treat the intersection as an all-way stop.

Crews will clean up debris and repair weather-related road damage as quickly as possible. But in the meantime, slow down and watch for the unexpected.

To request help or report a road hazard:

  • Life threatening - emergency response - call 9-1-1
  • Report a road hazard - after hours - non-emergency response - 503-629-0111
  • Report a road hazard - during business hours M-F 8am-5pm - 503-846-ROAD (503-846-7623) or [email protected]
  • Submit an online request for a non-emergency road service (monitored M-F 8am-5pm)
