Washington County's Department of Land Use & Transportation and the City of Hillsboro invite the public to an Open House on Thursday, January 9, 2014 for the Cornelius Pass Road improvement project. The event will be held at Liberty High School (Room 165), 21945 NW Wagon Way. The public is welcome to drop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the proposed design for the project and to provide comments for the project team. No formal presentation is planned. Staff from Washington County and design consultant David Evans and Associates will be available to answer questions.

This project will widen Cornelius Pass Road between Cornell Road and Highway 26 to three lanes in each direction with a center median and dedicated turn lanes at several intersections, including Highway 26. The roadway will also include bicycle and pedestrian facilities on both sides of the roadway, intersection upgrades and additional street lighting. Construction is anticipated to begin summer 2015.

This project is funded through a combination of sources including private development, the County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3d), State of Oregon Immediate Opportunity Funds (IOF) and the City of Hillsboro.
